Welcome, and thank you for stopping by my blog. I am excited about having this opportunity to introduce myself and share my passion for mental health empowerment and treatment, individual recovery from addiction/substance abuse issues as well as community recovery. My name is Thomas Momoh, and I am an experienced substance abuse counselor/therapist with extensive knowledge in mental health care administration and correctional mental health treatment. In the span of my career, I have had the great fortune to assist many individuals in overcoming addiction or substance abuse challenges through therapy; seeing their journey of healing fuels my passion and commitment to this field. Mental health plays an integral part in overall well-being. My goal is to empower individuals to improve their mental well-being, realize their true potential, and reach their fullest potential. Everyone deserves access to effective treatment and support services regardless of background or circumstances.
Regarding my academic credentials and qualifications, I hold a license as an alcohol and other drugs counselor, giving me a firm foundation in addiction counseling. Furthermore, my bachelor’s degree in sociology and history equips me with an in-depth knowledge of societal factors related to addiction and mental health problems, while completing a master’s in applied psychology broadened my understanding of evidence-based therapeutic interventions. As part of my academic pursuits, I am studying clinical psychology with an emphasis on Forensic Psychology. Not only is this endeavor proof of my dedication and desire for expansion of knowledge and skill set, but it exemplifies my interest in understanding addiction-related mental illness within criminal justice systems and providing solutions.
My goal with this blog is to use it as an outlet to share my knowledge, experiences, and expertise while connecting with colleagues and readers who care deeply about mental health empowerment and substance abuse recovery. I welcome interaction, discussion, sharing of perspectives, and sharing of experiences; together, we can foster an environment conducive to learning and growth, resulting in making a significant positive change for those struggling with addiction or mental health challenges. I am thrilled to begin this blogging adventure and engage with each of you. Your support and engagement are crucial in making this platform a success, so let us open this dialogue about mental health awareness, addiction relief, and building an unbiased world. Please feel free to reach out with any queries, thoughts, comments, or suggestions.
